Edible Soil!!!

In Science class, we recently learned about layers of soil. In order to solidify our understanding of these layers (humus, topsoil, subsoil, and bedrock), we created our own edible soil! Most people know this as "dirt pudding."

Here is a visual of soil layers:

We used:

1. Coconut (dies green) to represent humus
2. Crushed Oreo's to represent topsoil
3. Chocolate Pudding to represent subsoil
4. Chocolate Chips to represent bedrock
5. Lastly, we used a gummy worm on top because who doesn't love those?!

Thank you again to all who donated supplies to our classroom to make this project possible! The students really enjoyed making the soil and even more, eating it. 😀
